A retractable ramp on the West side of the dock and a ladder on the East side makes access for your guests safe and easy. HMYC maintains three large dingy docks. Our East dingy dock, easily accessible by ramp, is reserved for inflatable dinghies. The East dock can accommodate around 10 inflatable dinghies. Our west dock, also easily accessible by ramp, is reserved for hard shell dinghies and larger than the East dock. The West dock can accommodate around 20 hard shell dinghies. More dinghy docks are slated to be deployed as out membership grows.
Mooring and Slips:
HMYC offers deep water moorings capable of holding large yachts. Out outside moorings average a depth of12 ft MLW while the inside moorings average a depth of 6 ft MLW. Our mooring committee takes pride in having an extremely well maintained and organized mooring field. The committee’s ground tackle sizing and maintenance policies exceed that of most other clubs and marinas. Although it is ultimately the individual member’s responsibility to ensure the soundness of their ground tackle, the committee works hard to advise on and implement best practices.
The committee’s main concern is the safety of your vessel and the vessels around it. Due at least in part to our diligent maintenance, we were very fortunate to have lost no vessels during Hurricane Irene or Superstorm Sandy. Our mooring filed is a quick and easy row (or motor) from our dinghy docks. Even the outside moorings can be accessed quickly. Please see the diagram below to obtain a better understanding of our mooring filed layout. We also maintain five slips along the North side of your walkway. There is currently a waiting list.
